Registration for next year's classes continues. The fees are as follows:
1 child   $90.00
2 children  115.00
3 or more children 140.00

Arrangements need to be made with the R.E. Office (508-234-5340) in order to fill out and update the necessary forms. This is especially important if your child is new to the program. In addition, a copy of your child's baptismal record is needed at the time of registration. Payment is requested at the time of registration, and checks should be made out to Good Shepherd Church.

Parents of children in Catholic schools: If your child will be in a sacramental year, please register your child in Religious Education. There will no charge, but you will be informed of all dates and preparation for Penance, First Eucharist, and Confirmation.

It has come to my attention that the parents of Uxbridge students need to fill out a form with regards to busing for next year. Due to the change in bus schedules in the Uxbridge School System, and the fact that there will no longer be a bus from Taft School to Good Shepherd on Monday afternoons, we have had to change the times of religious education classes.
The schedule for the 2009-2010 year is as follows:
Little Lambs (Ages 3*, 4 and 5)  During the 10 AM Mass
Grades 1 and 2:   After the 10 AM Mass for 45 minutes**
Grades 3 and 4:   Monday afternoons from 4:00-5:15 PM
Grades 5-9:  Monday evenings from 6:30-8:00 PM
I would like to make some curriculum changes, too. I would like to add the 3 year olds to the Little Lambs program. We are starting a brand new Little Lambs program based on the principles of the Montessori Method of Early Childhood Education, and I am sure the 3 year olds will enjoy it.
The 1st graders will go into a more structured program, and since they will have been to Mass, their Religious Education class will be 45 minutes in length.
Having the 3rd and 4th graders dismissed so early poses a problem to our children from other school districts. We have chosen 4 PM to accommodate those parents who have to be home for their children in the 1st and 2nd grades, who are being dismissed at 3:05 PM.
If anyone wishes to enroll a 3 year old into our program, the cost will be the early bird rate, since you did not know about the change. Please call 508-234-5340 for more information.
