Candlelight Prayer Service

Candlelight Prayer provides an opportunity for quiet reflection designed to help attendees both relax and discover God's love & spirit in their own lives. It is designed around four key components:

  • A peaceful atmosphere whereby attendees sit in darkness surrounded only by the glow of candles, free from the distractions of everyday life
  • Heartfelt stories centered around a common theme, such as love, hope or family
  • Peaceful music, chosen to reflect that same common theme
  • Prayers for Petition, where we pray for those in need, in particular those names submitted by attendees

This will be the last prayer service until we resume in the fall. The idea originated at Assumption College where Jason & Amanda Patnode were both undergraduate students. They began these services here at Good Shepherd this past December.

Dear Lord, we want to thank you for listening to our prayers,

for granting us your guidance,

relieving all our fears.

For always being present,

no matter night or day,

to give us strength and comfort,

each moment when we pray.

Through times of strife and struggle,

You're there to offer hope,

in times of grief and mourning,

your love can help us cope.

Wherever life may take us,

around each twist and bend,

You always stand beside us,

our savior and our friend.
