| Sacrament of Marriage |

Concerning preparation for the Sacrament of
Marriage, the Catechism of the Catholic Church (#1632) states, "So
that the 'I do' of the spouses may be a free and responsible act and
so that the marriage covenant may have solid and lasting human and
Christian foundations, preparation for marriage is of prime
importance." For this reason engaged couples are asked to contact
the pastor at least one (1) year prior to their desired wedding date
in order to begin the preparation process. It is best to finalize
the date with the pastor before finalizing the date with a reception
hall so that any possible confusion or conflict might be
avoided. |
